Our specialists work closely with pathologists who focus in the area of thoracic, or lung, pathology. Penn’s pathologists provide diagnostic consultations and second opinions in lung pathology.
Our lung pathology team includes internationally-recognized experts in the diagnosis of malignant and inflammatory diseases of the chest. The team employs a full range of routine and specialized techniques to analyze tissue specimens from the lungs, mediastinum and chest wall.
Penn’s lung pathologists are part of the division of anatomic pathology in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The anatomic pathology division has a long, distinguished record of research in pathology and provides state-of-the-art diagnostic services.
