Acupuncture offers many benefits to cancer patients. When added to your treatment plan, acupuncture can enhance general quality of life by reducing the side effects of cancer treatments and help promote an overall sense of balance and well-being.

About Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a nearly 2,000-year-old form of traditional Chinese medicine. While it is not fully understood, the mechanism of acupuncture for pain and symptom distress may help the brain to release neuro-chemicals such as endorphins and regulate the autonomic nervous system.

In acupuncture, hair-thin pins are inserted at specific points on the body. A pin tap feels like a small pinch and the sensation quickly dissipates. Most people who receive acupuncture treatment feel minimal or no pain from the pins.

Patients often require a series of six to ten treatments to experience benefits for specific conditions. Our acupuncturist will work with you to create your personalized care plan.
