Andrea Schneider, MD, PhD, is now on the faculty of Penn Neurology.

Dr. Schneider earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. She then completed an internal medicine internship and a neurology residency and neurocritical care fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by a PhD and post-doctoral research fellowship in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.

A specialist in neurocritical care and the treatment of traumatic brain injuries, Dr. Schneider's research interests include the relationship between traumatic brain injury and cognition and dementia. Her clinical interests include acute and chronic traumatic brain injuries, the long-term sequelae of traumatic brain injuries, including cognitive decline and dementia risk, and acute neurologic illness and injuries in the neurocritical care unit.

Dr. Schneider is board certified in neurology. She sees patients at the Neurosciences Center at the Perelman School of Medicine .
