Consultative cardiologist Emeka Anyanwu, MD, MScBMI, has joined the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Penn Medicine. Dr. Anyanwu also serves as a Clinical Innovation Manager within the Penn Medicine Center for Healthcare Innovation.

Dr. Anyanwu received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Chicago Medical Center. During his cardiology fellowship training, he also earned a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Chicago.

In addition to caring for general cardiology patients, Dr. Anyanwu has a strong interest in the potential for clinical informatics and digital technologies to improve the efficiency of patient care, clinical communication, and medical research and education. To this end, he combines his medical expertise with his software development experience to design, evaluate, and scale digital solutions to common pain points for patients and clinicians.

Board certified in internal medicine and echocardiography, Dr. Anyanwu sees patients at the Heart and Vascular Center in the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine.
