A graduate of the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons, where he completed a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship in Urologic Oncology, Dr. Pierorazio went on to complete an internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the Department of Surgery and the Brady Urological Institute, respectively.

Dr. Pierorazio is an accomplished surgeon with expertise in all malignancies of the urinary tract. He performs both open and minimally-invasive surgeries, including laparoscopic and robotic surgeries of the kidney, bladder, and prostate, and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection for testicular cancer.

As a clinical researcher, his interests include high-risk prostate, bladder and urothelial cancers, as well as both advanced and early-stage testicular and kidney cancer (renal cell carcinoma).

Dr. Pierorazio leads the Delayed Intervention and Surveillance for Small Renal Masses (DISSRM) Registry—a multi-institutional, prospective study of patients undergoing primary intervention and active surveillance for cT1a renal masses. He sits on both the American Urological Association (AUA) and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Guidelines Committees for Kidney Cancer.

Dr. Pierorazio has presented his research at national and international meetings, and has written and published numerous research articles, textbook chapters, and video presentations in the field of urologic oncology.

Board certified in urology, Dr. Pierorazio sees patients at Penn Urology University City.
