Alejandro de Feria, MD, is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where he was funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie disease progression in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). He went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Womens Hospital of Harvard University, and fellowships in cardiovascular disease and inherited cardiovascular disease at the Perelman School of Medicine.

Dr. de Feria specializes in inherited and genetic forms of cardiovascular disease, including (but not limited to) HCM, dilated cardiomyopathy, arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy, left ventricular noncompaction, and other forms of nonischemic cardiomyopathy. His clinical and research interests include left ventricular hypertrophy and HCM.

In addition, Dr. de Feria has advanced training in cardiovascular imaging and uses these tools to improve clinical diagnosis and optimize surgical and catheter-based management of HCM. He is also involved in the application of novel therapies for management of HCM.

Board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and echocardiography, Dr.
de Feria sees patients at the Penn Heart and Vascular Center of the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine.
