Shivani Umang Thanawala, MD, has joined Penn Gastroenterology.
A graduate of New York University School of Medicine in New York, NY, Dr. Thanawala completed her internal medicine residency within the NYU SOM hospital system. Subsequently, she completed fellowships in gastroenterology and advanced esophagology and an MS in clinical epidemiology at the Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Thanawala's clinical and research interests include eosinophilic esophagitis, Barrett's esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma.
