Abby White, DO, FACS, is performing thoracic surgery at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health.
Dr. White was born and raised in Pennsylvania and completed her medical education at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She received her surgical training at Christiana Care Health System and her thoracic surgery training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She returns to Pennsylvania after more than 8 years on faculty at Harvard Medical School and a faculty thoracic surgeon at Brigham and Women’s hospital.
Dr. White’s clinical interests include thoracic oncology, lung cancer in women, mediastinal disorders, esophageal cancer, and minimally invasive thoracic surgery. Her research involves the evaluation of clinical outcomes and effectiveness of therapies and surgical interventions as they relate to lung and esophageal cancer, with a specific focus on signet ring cell esophageal cancer, segmentectomy for non-small cell lung cancer, and the treatment of locally advanced and recurrent lung cancers.
Board certified in surgery and thoracic and cardiac surgery, Dr. White sees patients at the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute at LG Health Physicians Thoracic Surgery.
