Cardiothoracic surgeon Christine M. McCarty, MD, has joined Penn Cardiac Surgery at Chester County Hospital. A graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania (now Drexel University School of Medicine), Dr. McCarty completed both her surgical internship and residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, and subsequently completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Dr. McCarty’s clinical interests include total arterial revascularization, off pump or beating heart surgery, and minimally invasive robotically assisted coronary revascularization. She has co-authored reports on robotic-assisted hybrid coronary artery revascularization with off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting, hybrid coronary revascularization versus off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery, and coronary stenting for treatment of obstructive coronary artery disease, among other interventions. Board certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery and general surgery, Dr. McCarty sees patients at Penn Cardiovascular Surgery Chester County.
