Dermatopathologists or skin pathology specialists and an oral pathologist at Penn Dermatology work directly with Penn doctors and referring physicians to diagnose unknown, rare, complex or chronic skin, hair, nail or oral conditions. In addition, Penn's dermatopathologists work with physicians and specialists to provide second opinions on an initial diagnosis or specialized treatments for a chronic condition.
Although patients do not make appointments directly with a skin or oral pathologist, their dermatologist or referring physician can consult directly with Penn's dermatopathologists to obtain comprehensive diagnostic services.
