Penn Rhinology works to develop improved topical and medical therapies that are an essential component of your treatment plan. For complex conditions, implementing these therapies in combination with surgical care has shown to greatly improve outcomes. Often medical therapies are not effective until all the underlying sinus disease is surgically addressed. We focus on topical therapies for patients who continue to have sinus issues following prior sinus surgery. For these to be effective delivery must be to all areas of the sinus cavity, often this requires revision sinus surgery to gain optimal results.
Rhinology medical therapies include:
- Aspirin desensitization for Aspirin Exacerbated Respiratory Disease (AERD): We offer advanced treatment for patients with Aspirin Exacerbated Respiratory Disease (AERD), a condition that affects some people with asthma. Patients benefit from treatment at the only multidisciplinary AERD Center in the region.
