Michael Gawrysiak, PhD, is a licensed psychologist who teaches mindfulness in group and individual formats. He is Assistant Professor at West Chester University of Pennsylvania and is instructor of psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. He coordinates a number of research projects examining how mindfulness relates to brain function and relapse prevention for those in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Michael also offers mindfulness public courses for those suffering from substance use disorders and depression and maintains a small private psychotherapy practice.
