What is the ICN at HUP like?
The ICN staff treats newborns in the most high-risk situations from birth through to their transition home.
Our 30-bed Level III nursery (the highest care level) and our six-bed Transitional Care Nursery are staffed by a team of physicians from The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), as well as nurses, respiratory therapists and nutritionists who specialize in infant intensive care.
The ICN provides space for parents to visit with their babies. Because we encourage family-centered care, we have a private room for breastfeeding mothers and special consultation rooms for parents to meet with their baby's care team.
