The Transplant House is about a five-block walk from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine and the Pavilion.
Parking Options
There are several convenient options for Transplant House guests to park throughout their stay:
- Limited guest parking is available for free in a surface lot on the south side of the House along Delancey Street (please do not park in the spots along Delancey Street itself – it is a private street and you will absolutely be towed!)
- Metered street parking is available on the Spruce Street, it costs $2.50 per hour and is free between the hours of 8pm-8am — this is a great temporary option if you would like a stop-gap solution until one of the spots out back opens up!
- Monday through Friday, parking at the 3600 Garage located at 3600 Civic Center Boulevard is free for all Transplant House guests. This garage is closed on weekends — on Saturday and Sunday guests are able to get their cars out but can not get back in until Monday. Simply inform the parking attendant that you are a Transplant House guest and share your name to be waived through at no charge.
- The garage at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine is our preferred garage for guests who require parking on weekends — typically the cost is $7 per day or $5 with validation, but if you need to drive to the medical campus during a weekend a staff member will be happy to provide you with a complementary parking pass to cover the cost of parking on Friday, Saturday or Sunday only.
PennRides Shuttle
The Transplant House offers a complementary shuttle service provided by Penn Accessible Transit for convenient transportation between the House and the Medical Campus. Rides are available any time at your request between 7 am to 6 pm Monday–Friday. A staff member will be happy to explain the basics of how to schedule rides to and from your appointments at check in!
Public Transportation
Schedules and information are available upon request for local bus and trolley services. Several public routes including the #40 and #42 SEPTA buses stop directly in front of the Transplant House on a regular basis. Exact change of $2.50 is required per person for each trip.
The LUCY Shuttle is a free service that operates two continuous loops around University City. Please inquire at the front desk for maps, schedules and to check a UPENN identification badge that will allow you to ride the shuttle for free.
