Outside Hospital Transfer Requests
If you are interested in transferring a patient to the MICU at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, we encourage you to contact the Penn Transfer Center at (877) 937-7366. Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is committed to providing exceptional ARDS care, beginning with consideration for Extracorporeal Life Support and ending with care coordination for ARDS survivors.
The Penn Transfer Center provides a single-call solution for referring physicians and their staff to transfer patients from another health care facility. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Penn Transfer Center establishes and maintains communications with referring facilities and staff throughout the patient transfer process.
The Center serves as a single point of contact for:
- Clinical triage
- Pre-certification
- Bed identification
- Transfer preparations
- Inter-facility transport, including PennSTAR
- Regular patient updates

- Your facility name and phone number
- Patient name, age, diagnosis and services required
