Patient & Guest Relations and Patient Advocacy
The Office of Patient and Guest Relations works to ensure every patient receives the best possible care and treatment at Pennsylvania Hospital. Our representatives serve as a source of information to help patients, families and visitors. Representatives can be reached at 215-829-8777, or (in-house) extension 8777, Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm. After hours or on weekends, call 215-829-3000 and your call will be answered by a hospital operator who will assist you. The office is located on the first floor of the Preston Building.
Some of the most frequently used services provided by the Office of Patient and Guest Relations include:
- Patient advocacy
- Concern/complaint resolution
- Advance directive, living wills
- Directions, parking, public transportation
- Foreign language and hearing impaired interpreter services and other special communication needs
- Notary Services
Patient and Guest Relations representatives can also assist you with information regarding the Patient Bill of Rights and Responsibilities.

Gift Shop
The hospital gift shop, Telly's Gift Shop, is located on the first floor of the Preston Building adjacent to the main lobby. It is open Monday through Friday, 9 am to 7 pm and Saturday and Sunday, 11 am to 3 pm; and is closed on hospital-observed holidays.
The shop carries a variety of magazines, newspapers, balloons, books, snacks, toiletries, gift items, floral arrangements, and, greeting cards. The shop will deliver to your room whenever possible.
Onsite Pharmacy
For your convenience, an out-patient onsite pharmacy is located on the first floor of the Preston Building.
Pastoral Care
For some people, pastoral guidance and prayer helps to enhance treatment and recovery. Pennsylvania Hospital's pastoral staff consists of clergy members of various faiths who are available to meet with patients upon request for spiritual counseling, guidance and prayer. Patients who are hospitalized are encouraged to invite their minister, priest, rabbi or other spiritual counselor to visit with them during their stay, or to request a visit from a hospital chaplain.

Penn Parenting Resource Center
Penn Parenting Resource Center, formerly Solutions for Women, offers parenting and breastfeeding support services, including parenting and childbirth classes and outpatient lactation services.
