What happens during a consultation?
An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) will take a history, observe a feeding, use a scale to measure your baby's intake, work with you to create a plan, and send a report to your primary healthcare provider. A consultation generally takes about an hour. Many families come in multiple times.
How much does a consultation cost?
Many insurance plans cover lactation services under the Affordable Care Act with no co-pay. If your insurance does not cover, there are affordable self-pay options available.
