Princeton Health held a series of activities between October 15 and October 19 to mark Penn Medicine Experience (PMX) Week, an annual celebration highlighting the efforts of physicians, employees and volunteers to deliver a stellar patient experience.
This was the first PMX Week celebration for Princeton Health, which joined Penn Medicine in January.
“Thank you all for the compassion and dedication you bring to our patients every day,” president and CEO Barry S. Rabner wrote in a message to Princeton Health staff announcing the start of PMX Week. “Our goal is to provide the highest quality of care and the most exceptional patient experience that we can, and that is possible because of the contributions of every single one of you.”
The activities kicked off Monday, October 15, with Voice of the Patient exhibits at Princeton Medical Center (PMC), Princeton HomeCare and Princeton House Behavioral Health. The exhibits displayed glowing reviews written in patient experience surveys during the past year.
Beginning Tuesday, October 16, staff members received a gift—a Penn Medicine Princeton Health water bottle. The next day, they received cupcakes and education on this year’s theme, the Penn Medicine BE standards.
All staff members and other representatives of Penn Medicine are encouraged to be:
- Compassionate
- Present
- Empowered
- Collaborative
- Accountable
In the staff message announcing PMX Week, Rabner referenced the BE standards and noted that the concepts behind them should sound familiar.
“They reflect what our organization has always been about,” he wrote, “and it shows why the Penn Medicine system was a perfect fit for Princeton Health.”
On Thursday, October 18, several employees at PMC, Princeton House and Princeton HomeCare were honored during PMX Week awards ceremonies.
Princeton Health’s Patient Experience Council selected the awardees from among scores of individuals nominated by their peers for work that exemplifies the BE standards.
