Presby Stars

Every month, PPMC staff members who embody Service, Teamwork, Achievement, and Respect, are named Presby STARs. In addition to earning recognition from their colleagues, these outstanding all-stars also receive a certificate from CEO Michele Volpe and a $100 award.

One recent STAR was PAC 4’s Stacey Collazzo, RN, whose empathy and willingness to go above and beyond not only for her patients, but for their loved ones – especially in times of great stress – are well known by her peers. When a patient who had been in the Heart and Vascular Intensive Care Unit for a number of weeks was transferred to the Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit, the patient’s daughter expressed anxieties about the move. Rather than just assuring her everything would be fine and brushing off any concerns, Callazzo sought to lift her spirits.

While the patient was being settled into her new room, Callazzo invited her daughter to join the nurses in ordering and sharing a meal. This simple, but meaningful gesture immediately put her mind at ease, and she expressed her gratitude for the kind welcome that both she and her mother received.

Congratulations to newest STARs lineup – we are so grateful for the dedication and compassion that you show the PPMC community!
