During National Healthcare Supply Chain Week last month, PPMC shone a spotlight on the hardworking team that stocks and manages the supplies and equipment needed to provide quality patient care – the Materials Management team. This year’s theme was “Innovation Through Collaboration,” and the department celebrated with lunches, gifts of appreciation, and giveaways.
The Materials Management team works diligently to support the hospital’s nursing units and ancillary departments every day, and to reduce costs without sacrificing quality of care. Each staff member plays a vital role in ensuring the department is an efficient and effective resource PPMC’s clinicians can rely on.
Art Schimmel, director of Materials Management, and Lateef Spratley, assistant material manager note, “Our daily collaboration with the nurse managers and other managerial staff helps us to better serve the need of clinicians, and in turn makes providing patient care easier. The Materials Management department would like to thank you for your support throughout the year, and we will continue to work on ways to improve efficiency to better serve the need of our customers.”
