James

William James, MD, of Dermatology, received the American Academy of Dermatology’s Master Dermatologist award, and is the first recipient of the AAD’s William D. James, MD, Mentor of the Year Award, which recognizes his career-spanning dedication to mentoring of students, residents, and junior faculty.

Lynn M. Schuchter, MD, and Lawrence N. Shulman, MD, were honored by the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Schuchter, chief of Hematology/Oncology and program leader for the Melanoma and Cutaneous Malignancies Program, received the Hologic, Inc. Endowed Women Who Conquer Cancer Mentorship Award for her strong commitment to and passion for mentorship, especially for women. Shulman, director of the Center for Global Cancer Medicine, received the Humanitarian Award for his efforts to implement cancer treatment programs in low-resource settings.

Kristy Weber, MD, chief of Orthopaedic Oncology, has become the first female president for the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. The AAOS seeks to advance musculoskeletal health and to facilitate delivery of the highest quality of musculoskeletal care.
