Stories have been the cornerstone of the Penn Medicine Experience Standards since their debut. “They inspire us, move us and connect us to our patients and peers,” said Alyson Cole, an associate executive director at HUP and co-chair of the Patient Experience Leadership Team. Employees continue to be central figures in the stories the Penn Medicine Experience team is telling. As part of a year-long “Compassionate” campaign and the 2019 Penn Medicine Experience Week (October 14–18), they’re highlighting 11 employees — one from each entity — to showcase their exemplary stories of compassion. Recognizing the Penn Medicine Experience Standards in action and telling our stories will help us build an even stronger foundation to deliver service excellence to our patients, families and colleagues. These behaviors are “part of our DNA as a Penn Medicine employee,” said Craig Loundas, AVP for the Penn Medicine Experience. “We’re just a putting a framework around what we’re already doing.”
