From employee ID badges and lanyards, to lab coats, to stationery, presentations, and beyond, the Penn Medicine brand is a core part of the way employees present themselves every day. But there’s more to a brand than just a consistent visual standard.
The Penn Medicine brand is a reflection of dedication to outstanding patient care, discoveries that advance science, and the education of future leaders in medicine. It makes employees feel proud of where they work and what they do, and enhances a sense of teamwork.
When employees draw on the brand during interactions with patients, families, and colleagues, they are harnessing the power of an organization that is at the leading edge of helping people live longer, healthier lives.
“We are all very lucky that our work is supported by a brand that is so recognizable,” says Michelle Hinshaw, senior director, Creative Services.
A “Brand”-New Resource
Penn Medicine recently rolled out Templafy, a new tool that employees can use to build PowerPoint presentations that align with the organization’s brand standards. Additionally, Templafy puts all Penn Medicine–approved assets – including logos, photos, icons, and more – right at employees’ fingertips. These features not only make it possible to use the Penn Medicine brand more consistently, but also to make all presentations look more professional and polished, whether created by a PowerPoint novice or an expert. This ensures that the look and feel of any presentation reflects the true expertise of its creator on the subjects they know best.
After completing a pop-up onboarding process or opening PowerPoint to locate the tool, employees can use Templafy to access predesigned slide templates and a Content Library full of up-to-date materials, saving time and increasing productivity. And because the Templafy program will grow and evolve with the needs of the workforce, employees are encouraged to submit requests for any unmet needs.
As more employees take advantage of the new tool, the Penn Medicine brand will be reinforced through more consistent use. Internally, more staff will see their colleagues delivering presentations that reflect the brand standards. And when doctors, clinical staff, and other experts use the Penn Medicine templates and assets to present at conferences locally, nationally, and internationally, they will strengthen the brand reputation even more, according to Tricia Bell, AVP, Global Brand and Strategic Marketing.
“Giving our employees access to Templafy has immediately created an entirely different culture of brand awareness,” says Hinshaw. “And with that comes our collective ability to benefit from the power of the Penn Medicine brand.”
