There are currently more than 114,000 people in the United States waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Every 10 minutes, another person is added to the list.
Lancaster General Hospital’s commitment to raising awareness about organ and tissue donation helped the hospital earn a Titanium level designation from the HAP Donate Life Challenge.
The HAP Donate Life Challenge was created by the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania, in partnership with the Center for Organ Recovery and Education, and Gift of Life Donor Program, with the mission to encourage Pennsylvania hospitals to increase organ donation awareness and designations within their hospital and community.
Titanium level, the highest level of recognition, was awarded to LGH, and the entire University of Pennsylvania Health System, for our continued efforts to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation through educational opportunities for clinical staff and events for the community.
