Savoring the Season
PAH kicked off the season with the 24th Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon at Hall-Mercer Community Behavioral Health Center. The event is truly a community affair, and both those who utilize Hall-Mercer’s services and those who just need a hot meal are welcome. Staff work together to decorate, serve guests, and make the luncheon — oftentimes the only holiday meal visitors have access to — as comfortable and delicious as possible.
A few weeks later, staff had the chance to “savor” the season during their own annual Holiday Meal, served by administrators, directors, managers, and department chairs.
This long-standing tradition brings staff together to celebrate a year of accomplishments, teamwork, and outstanding patient care. Special thanks to the Food & Nutrition Services team for assembling both of these scrumptious spreads!
Making Holiday Wishes Come True
Promoting the health and well-being of the community is at the core of PAH’s mission all year round, and that mission also includes making the holiday season merry and bright for patients and families in need.
Hall-Mercer’s Children’s Case Management team provided services to 100 families struggling with extreme financial stress this year, and departments “adopted” the families and checked off their wish lists. PAH’s Radiology team alone collected enough gifts to fill four carts! “The outpouring of generosity was absolutely amazing! This season is about giving, and they sure did,” said Sue McFadden, MS, residency program manager and medical student/CME manager in Diagnostic Radiology.
Meowy Christmas & Happy Howlidays
As the home of the Paws 4 Pennsy pups, there’s no way PAH would forget the needs of our four-legged friends over the holidays!
In addition to staging a department-wide cookie swap and breakfast, the self-proclaimed animal-loving Sleep Center and Neurophysiology teams also decided to “deck the paws” and collect donations for the Providence Animal Shelter in Media, Pa. From paper towels to tasty treats, the teams were able to fill the donation box under their Christmas tree.
