  From the Greyhound Bus Station at 10th and Filbert streets, walk to the Jefferson Station (formerly Market East station) at 11th and Market streets. From there, take the R1 Airport, R2 Marcus Hook-Wilmington, or R3 Media-Elwyn Regional Rail line to the Penn Medicine Station on the Medical Center Campus. A taxi ride from the Greyhound Bus station costs about $12.

• LUCY Shuttle (Loop through University City)

  This SEPTA-run shuttle bus is free to students and employees of University of Pennsylvania, Penn Medicine, University City Science Center, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. All others can ride with Trans or TrailPass, transfers, or $2.50 bus fare. LUCY has a wheelchair lift and two wheelchair tie-downs per bus.

  The LUCY shuttle runs every 5 to 30 minutes from 6:10 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday, except major holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day).

• New Jersey PATCO Trains

  Take the PATCO line to 8th and Market streets. Follow the underground concourse to the SEPTA Jefferson Station (formerly Market East station). From there, the R1 Airport, R2 Marcus Hook-Wilmington, and R3 Media-Elwyn Regional Rail lines provide direct service to the Penn Medicine Station on the Medical Center campus. Or you may transfer from PATCO at 8th and Market streets to the SEPTA Market/Frankford Blue Line (the elevated train/subway). Take the westbound train to 34th and Market streets. A 10-minute walk south on 34th Street takes you to the Hospital.

  • Regional Rail Lines: The Airport, Marcus Hook-Wilmington, Media-Elwyn and most Glenside-Jenkintown, Warminster and West Trenton trains provide direct service to the Penn Medicine Station on the Medical Center campus. From other Regional Rail lines, transfer free to the Airport, Marcus Hook-Wilmington, Media-Elwyn and most Glenside-Jenkintown, Warminster and West Trenton trains at 30th Street or Jefferson Station (formerly Market East station). Your train ticket is your transfer.

  • SEPTA City Trains and Trolleys: The SEPTA Market/Frankford Blue Line (the elevated train/subway) stops at 34th and Market streets. A 10-minute walk south on 34th Street or a 5-minute ride on the LUCY shuttle takes you to the Hospital.

    All SEPTA Subway/Surface Green Line trolleys except the Number 10 stop at 37th and Spruce streets, one block from the Rhoads entrance to the Hospital on 36th Street south of Spruce Street. If you take the Number 10 trolley, travel to 36th and Sansom streets. Walk four blocks south on 36th Street to the Rhoads entrance of the Hospital.

  • SEPTA Buses: The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania can be accessed by a variety of SEPTA bus routes, including the 30, 40, 49, 42 and 21. The Route 30 bus circulates through University City and West Philadelphia, with a stop at the intersection of 33rd Street and Spruce Street. The Route 40 bus runs through campus across Center City and stretches up to the East Parkside, Mantua, Belmont, and Powelton Village neighborhoods, with a stop at 34th Street and Spruce Street. The Route 49 bus runs through campus to the north and south stretching from Strawberry Mansion to Point Breeze, with a stop at 34th Street and Spruce Street. And bus routes 42 and 21 stretch East and West across Center City and West Philadelphia, stopping at 33rd Street and Spruce Street and 34th Street and Chestnut Street, respectively.

• From Northeastern Areas:
  From I-95 South, take the Vine Street/Center City Exit, stay left to 676 West (Vine Street Express-way). Follow 676 West to the I-76 East Exit 1, International Airport. Follow I-76 East (Schuylkill Expressway) to Exit 346B, University Avenue. Continue on University Avenue, and then turn right onto Civic Center Boulevard. Turn right onto Health Sciences Drive. Follow specific garage directions.
• From the West & Montgomery County:
  Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 326, Valley Forge. Take I-76 East (Schuylkill Expressway) approximately 17 miles to Exit 346B, University Avenue. Continue on University Avenue, and then turn right onto Civic Center Boulevard. Turn right onto Health Sciences Drive. Follow specific garage directions.
• From the North:
  Take I-476 (Northeast Extension) South to Exit 20, Mid-County. Pay the toll and continue south on I-476 to Exit 16A, I-76 East. Follow I-76 East (Schuylkill Expressway) approximately 17 miles to Exit 346B, University Avenue. Continue on University Avenue, and then turn right onto Civic Center Boulevard. Turn right onto Health Sciences Drive. Follow specific garage directions.
• From the South/Philadelphia International Airport:
  Take I-95 North to Exit 13, PA-291 toward I-76 West/Valley Forge (Schuylkill Expressway). Merge right. Cross Girard Point Bridge and turn left at light on 26th Street. Merge on I-76 West to Exit 346B, University Avenue. Continue on University Avenue, and then turn right onto Civic Center Boulevard. Turn right onto Health Sciences Drive. Follow specific garage directions.
• From New Jersey:
  Take I-295 to the Walt Whitman Bridge. Follow signs for I-76 West (Schuylkill Expressway) and take Exit 346B, University Avenue. Continue on University Avenue, and then turn right onto Civic Center Boulevard. Turn right onto Health Sciences Drive. Follow specific garage directions.

Connector Path

The Pavilion sits across the street from the HUP and adjacent to the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine. The connector path runs between HUP, the Pavilion, and the Perelman Center.
