Meet Dr. Jacob

Jerry Jacob MD, MS earned a BS in Economics from the Wharton School, and a BAS in biomedical science followed by an MD at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh followed by a fellowship in infectious Diseases at Temple University Hospital during which time he also earned an MS (Epidemiology).

Dr. Jacob is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at Penn and serves as Director of Infection Prevention & Antimicrobial Stewardship at Good Shepherd Penn Partners, including a long-term acute care hospital, an inpatient rehabilitation facility, and outpatient sites. Dr. Jacob also serves as Senior Physician Advisor to the Subacute & Therapy services division at Penn Medicine, and the Long-Term Care Resiliency, Infrastructure Supports, and Empowerment (RISE) program, a partnership between Penn Medicine, Temple Health, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Through the RISE program, Dr. Jacob has provided support for COVID-19 outbreak response and quality improvement programming for long-term care facilities across 8 counties in southeastern Pennsylvania.
