Basic science: Role of intracellular calcium dysregulation on neuronal apoptosis and neurodegenration, autophagy, synapse and cognitive dysfunction in neurodegenerative diseases, especially in Alzheimer's Disease. Treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Mechanisms of anesthesia mediated dual effects of neuroprotection and neurotoxicity, especially in the developing brains and in Alzheimer's disease.

Clinical science: Clinical use of Supraglottic Jet Oxygenationa and Ventilation (SJOV) to maintain oxygenation/ventilation in patients with respiratory depression or apnea, especially during difficult airway management, emergent airway management rescue.
