Description of Research Expertise
Dr. Kohn completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests lie at the intersection of health services research and healthcare operations within learning health systems. Her primary research interests include "ward capacity strain," when the demand for clinical resources on hospital wards exceeds availability thus impacting patient care, and "geographic dispersion," when specialty wards exceed capacity and patients overflow to alternate locations. Her goals include improving patient-centered outcomes and healthcare efficiency within learning health systems.
