About me

  • Director, Division of Sleep Surgery | Penn Otorhinolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery
  • Director, CPAP Alternatives Clinic | Penn Sleep Center
  • Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
  • Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery in Medicine (Sleep Medicine)

Dr. Dedhia is one of the first 10 otolaryngologists in the U.S. to complete a fellowship in sleep medicine, providing him a deep-seated understanding of obstructive sleep apnea. He provides all medical and surgical options for the disease, including the full gamut of sleep surgery such as drug-induced sleep endoscopy, reconstructive nasal surgery, soft tissue surgery, hypoglossal nerve stimulation and skeletal surgery. While serving as Director of Sleep Surgery at Emory University (prior to coming to Penn) from 2015-2019, he established an international reputation in sleep surgery.

Dr. Dedhia holds a Masters in Clinical Research which has paved the way for his role as a leading researcher in obstructive sleep apnea. He has received 3 foundation grants (American Heart Association, American Sleep Medicine Foundation and Triological Society) related to cardiovascular disease in sleep apnea. Most recently, Dr. Dedhia's team received a multi-million, 5-year grant from the National Institutes of Health to better understand alternatives to CPAP.

He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. He regularly lectures for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and American Academy of Otolaryngology.
