Description of Research Expertise
Dr. Addis's research interests include the diagnosis of early glaucoma, diagnostic techniques for the evaluation and monitoring of patients with glaucoma, and medical and surgical therapies for glaucoma.
Dr. Addis is currently a sub-investigator on the 5-year Primary Open Angle African American Glaucoma Genetics (POAAGG) study with Dr. Joan O’Brien and the other glaucoma faculty. The goal of this is study is to identify the genetic risk factors that make African Americans disproportionately more likely to develop primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG).
