Kidney & Pancreas Transplant Expert Ronald Parsons, MD, joins Penn Transplant Institute

Ronald Parsons, MDRonald F. Parsons, MD, is now surgical director of the kidney and pancreas transplant programs at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. A graduate of the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Dr. Parsons was a general surgery resident at Penn Surgery and completed an abdominal transplantation fellowship at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center in 2014.

Dr. Parsons has been a kidney and pancreas transplant surgeon at Emory Transplant Center in Atlanta, GA for the past nine years, and the Surgical Director of its Pancreas Transplantation Program for the last four. His clinical interests include deceased and living donor kidney and pancreas transplantation, improvement of access to, and increased provider awareness of these procedures, and improved opportunities for islet transplantation.

Dr. Parsons is board certified in surgery. He sees patients at the Penn Transplant Institute at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.
