Dr. Andrew Courtwright Named “Unsung Hero” of the Year

Andrew M. Courtwright, MD, PHD Congratulations to Dr. Andrew Courtright on being recognized as the 2018 Wishes and Dreams for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's "Unsung Hero". This award recognizes the outstanding achievements of people whose efforts make a positive difference in the lives of cystic fibrosis patients and in the fight to cure and control cystic fibrosis. Nominees may be individuals in the medical community, volunteers, cystic fibrosis patients or cystic fibrosis family members.

Kimberly Galie, Chairperson of the Wishes & Dreams Winter Ball, noted that Dr. Courtwright "has been an amazing advocate for those who suffer from cystic fibrosis."

"This award is a validation of the type of outstanding and compassionate care that Dr. Courtwright delivers every day," said Jason D. Christie, MD, MS, Chief, Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Division.

Dr. Courtwright will be recognized at the Wishes and Dreams Winter Ball, held on Friday, January 26, 2018. The Winter Ball is a semi-formal/black tie optional event created to raise funds to support children and adults with cystic fibrosis. This year the event will be held at VIE, 600 N.
