Thoracic Surgery
Our thoracic surgery program is one of the largest and most active programs on the East Coast. Our lung surgeons perform more than double the number of lung surgeries than any other medical center in the region. In one year, the thoracic team completed more than 2,000 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including more than 500 lung resections. Our program is distinguished by our expertise, experience and dedication to your individual needs when facing thoracic surgery.
The thoracic surgery team treats complex lung diseases and disorders, including:

- Complex airway disorders
- Emphysema
- Esophageal cancer

- Mesothelioma
- Swallowing disorders
- Tumors and obstruction of the trachea
From diagnosis through treatment, you will have access to the most advanced facilities available:

The Harron Lung Center also features a Lung Nodule Program that was developed to address the growing number of patients being diagnosed with tiny round- or oval-shaped sores (called lesions or nodules) on or in their lungs. The goal is to save you from unnecessary surgery and to catch possible lung cancers early when they are most treatable.
