At Penn Medicine, we provide testing to anyone who is experiencing coronavirus symptoms. A Penn Medicine provider must place an order or refer you to get tested.
If you're a patient and are concerned about possible symptoms of the virus, we recommend that you contact your provider, who will provide more information about the test sites and can refer you to be tested. The referrals are sent electronically through our electronic medical records platform, so no paperwork is exchanged on-site.
Once your referrals are checked or you're registered in the Penn system, you'll speak with a provider who will ask you about your symptoms. If you match the CDC testing criteria, you'll get swabbed and your samples will be sent to a lab for testing.
COVID-19 Testing Locations and Hours
We have several ambulatory COVID-19 testing sites with test kits available for symptomatic patients. Each of our testing sites have different hours and registration requirements, but most require appointments.
In the case of inclement weather, it is possible that a site will need to be closed with short notice. Please ensure you provide the best number to reach you when you make an appointment, so we can contact you to reschedule if needed.
Lancaster General Health Testing Sites

Princeton Health Testing Site

Testing hours: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (closed Thursday and Saturday)
A Penn Medicine provider must give you a script or referral for you to be tested at the Princeton site. If you have an order, please call Central Scheduling at 609-853-7198.
Sayre Health Center Testing Site
Address: 227 S. 59th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19139
Testing hours: 9 am to 12:30 pm, 1 pm to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday (closed Fri-Sunday)
The Sayre Health Center testing site is supported by Penn Medicine, but does not use the Penn Medicine electronic medical record system. The entrance to the testing site is located in the parking lot behind Sayre High School. We strongly encourage patients to pre-register by calling 215-474-4444. On-site registration may incur long wait times.

COVID-19 Test Results
After you've been swabbed at one of our testing sites, we send the sample either to a commercial laboratory for COVID-19 testing or to a lab at the University of Pennsylvania. Test results are immediately posted on your MyChart by myPennMedicine account. If you do not have a MyChart by myPennMedicine account, sign up here.
If you test positive for COVID-19, you'll receive a phone call and be provided guidelines for self-quarantine. We have services available to take care of patients with COVID-19, such as COVID Watch, an automated text messaging system that provides 24/7 clinical feedback and support.
