Colleen Mattioni DNP, RN, CNOR, is an accomplished nurse executive who has made significant contributions to advance perioperative nursing practice, specifically in the areas of education, orientation, management, and work force development and planning. Dr. Mattioni is currently the Chief Nurse Executive at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). In her role as Chief Nurse Executive, Dr. Mattioni provides operational and strategic leadership for the Department of Nursing while strengthening the hospital’s inter-professional relationships and guiding the directives of the professional practice model.
Dr. Mattioni has presented, published, and consulted nationally and internally on a wide array of perioperative nursing and nursing leadership topics, including a recent publication in The Journal of Nursing Administration, titled “Collaborations and Connections: The Value of the AONL Nurse Executive Fellowship.” Dr. Mattioni received a baccalaureate degree from Villanova University, a Master’s in Business in Health Care Administration from Eastern University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Pittsburgh.
