Barbara is the Director Practice & Education for Advanced Practice. She is also a Senior Fellow in the Center for Health Outcomes & Policy. Her clinical practice as a nurse practitioner was focused in cardiac surgery with a specialty interest in valvular heart disease and heart failure. Barbara’s scholarly work has focused on transition to practice as well as preceptor models for Nurse Practitioner education. Barbara has published in peer reviewed journals and presented both on the local and national level. She is chair of the Nomination Council at the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and chair elect of the Pennsylvania Action Coalition. She is certified as both a family and acute care NP. Barbara received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Howard University, Master’s Degree from Medical College of Virginia, and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Thomas Jefferson University.
