The Penn Medicine Center for Innovation and Learning opened its doors in 2011. This state-of-the art, 28,000-square-foot facility in Center City Philadelphia, serves over 22,000 faculty and staff employed by the Penn Medicine and School of Medicine. The center was designed to enable large scale transformations and improvements in patient care through educational programs, advanced technologies, simulations and experiential learning.
The mission of the center is to transform the patient experience through the design of advanced programs and technologies that help further new models of delivering care and services to our patients and their families. The center also provides staff with the opportunity to further their careers and advance their practice through innovative educational programs and virtual tools to learn, contribute and grow. Our new, modern Smart Hospital, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and simulation learning labs create a real life environment where our staff can practice and learn new skills in a safe environment.
Through the innovative educational programs and advanced learning tools at the Penn Medicine Center for Innovation and Learning, nurses are given the opportunity to learn, discover and create to advance excellence in patient care.
