The best treatment and care for nose, nasal, and sinus disorders begins with a precise diagnosis. Our rhinology patients receive thorough and accurate evaluation and diagnosis, all in one appointment. Our technologically advanced clinics offer multiple resources. Every examination room comes equipped with two high-definition (HD) monitors that allow our specialists to accurately view structural or anatomic abnormalities within the sinus area while performing various diagnostic tests. Patients and family members can simultaneously see what our specialists view, to better understand their diagnosis.
Rhinology Diagnostic Tests
During your visit, our physicians review all relevant records, including previous computerized tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, surgical and pathology reports, records of prior specialist care, and personal history. Specialists assess these reports with results from our advanced in-office diagnostic testing.
Diagnostic testing may include:
- Minimally invasive nasal endoscopy: Nasal endoscopy lets our experts look at and evaluate affected areas. The endoscope, a long thin tube with a tiny video camera, sends images from inside nasal passages to be viewed on our HD monitors.
- Computerized tomography (CT) scan: A CT scan uses a series of high-tech x-ray images taken from different angles to create detailed pictures of the head and neck. Our facilities offer an in-office CT scanner, that provide results for review and discussion right away, without needing to go to another location for imaging.
- Allergy testing and immunologic evaluation: Allergens may be the cause of your symptoms. If you have an allergy, your immune system will react to the particular substance you have come in contact with. Your physician may recommend allergy testing combined with a physical examination. These tests will identify these allergens and help to provide a precise diagnosis.
