What to Expect at an Endocrinology Appointment at Penn
Patients who come to Penn Endocrinology for treatment of their endocrine disorders receive highly specialized care from leaders in endocrinology care and research.
Patients should bring to their first appointment:
- Referrals, if needed
- Co-pay, if applicable
- Insurance card
- Identification
- Copies of lab reports
- List of current medications and dosage of each medication
New patients at Penn Endocrinology should allow about 40 to 45 minutes for their first visits.
During this visit, they will meet a Penn endocrinologist to go over lab work, medication, diagnosis and treatment options.
Patients at Penn Endocrinology may also meet with an attending physician, fellow or medical student specializing in the treatment of endocrine disorders.
Penn Endocrinology has a dedicated nurse practitioner available for questions and assistance before and during each visit.
