A precise diagnosis is the foundation for treatment and translates to the best possible outcomes for those living with spinal deformities. The Penn Spine Center offers the latest advancements in spine imaging technology including:
- Intraoperative navigation and computed tomography (CT scan): These advanced imaging tests are able to show abnormalities by using a combination of X-rays and computer technology to produce images of the spine.
- EOS imaging: The EOS imaging system allows physicians to view the spine completely, from top to bottom, in 3-D. This complete view enables surgeons to precisely diagnose a patient’s condition, tailor surgery accordingly and restore the patient’s original anatomy. The Penn Spine Center is the only center in the region with this type of detailed, advanced imaging system. EOS uses less radiation than a CT scan or conventional radiography. We also offer an MRI machine that is safe for patients who have pacemakers. This advanced technology ensures better pre-operative planning, fewer complications and optimal surgical outcomes.
