Postpartum Pelvic Floor Recovery: The Penn Medicine Advantage
Our specialized program focuses on the needs of women who experience pelvic conditions or injuries after giving birth. Whether you’ve just delivered or your baby has been out of diapers for years, we can help.
We offer:
- Expertise in pelvic health: Our skilled urogynecologist is more than an OB-GYN. She has years of focused experience treating women with all types of conditions affecting pelvic organs. With specialized fellowship training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, she focuses on helping new mothers heal after childbirth.
- Postpartum care for the whole woman: We provide medical care for physical issues, such as vaginal tears, and referrals to providers with expertise in psychological services for mental health concerns such as postpartum depression. Our comprehensive approach ensures that you get the care you need during a challenging time.
- Preventive services: Our testing and counseling services assess your risk of future complications. We help you prepare for future pregnancies and childbirth to help your delivery go as smoothly as possible.
- Multidisciplinary care: Through our program, you have access to care providers for nonsurgical treatment, physical therapy, psychological counseling and surgical procedures. Whatever your needs might be, we can refer you to someone who can help. Meet our postpartum pelvic floor recovery program team.
