Inpatients at Princeton House Behavioral Health received cards bearing messages of love and encouragement on Valentine’s Day, thanks to the thoughtfulness of students and campus community members at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ).
Eric Van Eck, recovery and prevention coordinator with the TCNJ Collegiate Recovery Program, delivered more than 125 handmade cards on February 14 to Yuko Martin, director of allied clinical therapies at Princeton House. The Valentines were handed to patients later that day by allied clinical therapists at the inpatient campus in Princeton, N.J.
The cards were created by students and staff members at TCNJ’s Ewing, N.J. campus as part of a service project called Spreading Unconditional Love. This was the second year that TCNJ volunteers crafted cards for patients. TCNJ also created cards for staff members this year.
“Our patients are very grateful to receive these thoughtful cards,” said Martin. “Their faces brighten up as they read the messages of encouragement and support and know that someone out there is rooting for their recovery.”
