Though thunderstorms kept Presby’s staff indoors, no amount of rain could ruin last month’s 4th Annual PPMC Summer Celebration. Staff who visited the Atwood Café for lunch and dinner enjoyed live music and a smorgasbord of summer favorites — burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, and all the fixin’s, with ice cream for dessert.
The highlight: a special appearance by Ralph W. Muller, who stopped by to share some parting thoughts ahead of his departure after 17 years as the CEO of the health system.
“I get phone calls and emails all the time talking about Presbyterian — the pride and the level of care here are fantastic,” Muller said, as the sun finally broke through the clouds. “When staff feel good about their work and their team, it reflects itself in great patient care. There’s a high correlation between employee satisfaction and engagement and patient care, and that’s what you’ve accomplished here.”
