Pennsylvania Hospital celebrated Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday and reflected on the 50th anniversary of his assassination with a special panel discussion centered on how all of us can fulfill his vision by enacting change and serving others. This year, dancers from the Interpretation of the Word Dance Ministry of True United Church were also invited to perform, and through their “Praise Dance,” they reflected King’s focus on faith.
PAH’s program was one of many MLK Day celebrations throughout Penn Medicine. The day also provided a time to help those in need in our communities.
If your department participated in a community outreach effort on MLK Day, please email a photo and a brief description to sally.sapega@uphs.upenn.edu. We’ll feature some of these volunteer efforts in the next System News.
