In an effort to increase awareness about the connection between mental and physical health, Lancaster General Health, in partnership with “Let’s Talk, Lancaster,” is participating in the Change Direction Campaign, a movement to encourage people to learn the five signs of emotional suffering.
Lancaster County was the first in Pennsylvania to sign on as a regional partner to the Campaign to Change Direction. According to federal, state, and local data, behavioral health is one of the community’s most pressing health concerns. The Campaign’s goal is to change the culture of mental health in Lancaster County so that all of those in need receive the care and support they deserve.
“We all know the signs of a heart attack, but the signs of emotional distress aren’t as well known. We’re working to change that,” said Alice Yoder, community health director for LG Health.
