When there’s an issue with applications, technology or process, finding the right Information Services professional to help can be a challenge. Now, a new IS way-finding service can help you get the info you need: Meet Isaac (Information Services Advisory Center).

Isaac is like a concierge service. “Our team connects you with the correct IS professional and will provide personal assistance,” said Jennifer Moody, senior manager. “Our goal is to point you in the right direction.”

Since launching in the fall, some of Isaac’s most common questions have been about IS Security and approved USB devices, mobile/telecom, and PennChart. “When we see certain trends, we’ll update the Frequently Asked Questions section on the Isaac website. It’s a quick way to get an answer,” said Paul Sweatlock, IS director of Operations.

Isaac is distinct from the Service Desk. “The Service Desk will continue to handle the immediate patient safety issues, application enhancements, and new service requests,” Moody said.

Starting this month, the Isaac team will visit entities throughout Penn Medicine with their “Smart Bars” and be available for all of your IS-related questions. Check out the UPHS Intranet home page and email broadcasts for the schedule. They will also focus on personalized support for selected troublesome topics and micro learning videos. On the horizon, you will be able to chat with Isaac in real-time.

Contacting Isaac is easy! To log in to the IS Self Service portal,  type “isaac/” in the Internet Explorer URL bar. To learn more about Isaac, please go to http://uphsxnet.uphs.upenn.edu/isaac/.
