Handle with care

Moral distress. Compassion fatigue. Burnout. These are real and disturbing national trends facing many of today’s health care teams. Since opening in 2011, HUP’s Renewal Center has provided a quiet space to counter these stresses, offering relaxation and respite to help support a good practice environment and lead to high-quality patient outcomes. These efforts align with the principles of HUP’s Magnet accreditation, a prestigious designation that recognizes quality patient care and nursing excellence.

With the Center’s expanded services — and 24/7 swipe access — “our employees’ prospects for an improved work experience just got exponentially better,” said Jen Brady, MA, RD, manager of Employee Health and Well-Being. “The Renewal Center will enrich our employees in so many ways and we’re looking forward to seeing how it will make an impact.”
