An elderly gentleman was wheeling his wife into Radiology at Penn Radnor when she suddenly soiled herself, necessitating that her clothing be removed and her body washed. Radiology technician Kathleen Baselice showed no hesitation in coming to her rescue. She cleaned the woman as best she could in the bathroom and took the soiled clothing away and brought a gown for the patient to wear. After Baselice wheeled her to Orthopaedics, where the patient had an appointment, Celeste Robinson, LPN, took over, and finished cleaning the patient and put her in scrubs.
After her appointment, Robinson wheeled the patient down to the parking lot and assisted her husband in getting his wife safely into their vehicle. Her husband was overwhelmed at the care and compassion that was demonstrated by the team of caregivers at Penn Medicine.
At Penn Medicine, we all aspire to be Difference Makers who represent the Penn Medicine Experience (PMX) in action. PMX sets a consistent standard across all of our entities and work locations to make every touchpoint an opportunity to build enduring connections with patients, families, visitors and colleagues, which is a foundational part of the UPHS Success Share program.
