Last July, Penn Medicine launched the Action for Cultural Transformation (ACT) to eliminate structural injustice across Penn Medicine and the communities we serve to achieve a vision for the future: Penn Medicine is united as an anti-racist, equitable, diverse and inclusive organization. Since that time, the Penn Medicine Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (formerly the Office of Inclusion and Diversity) has been working in partnership with Penn Medicine Academy and leaders and representatives from across the institution, to chart the course for ACT that will transform our culture and bring about substantive change.
Over the last few months, virtual meetings across Penn Medicine have gathered raw, honest feedback from over 5,000 Penn Medicine faculty, staff, and students. Now, strategies are being developed and put in place to drive actions which will help mitigate bias and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion.
